Solid Waste Engineering

Aquaterra personnel have extensive experience in all facets of solid waste landfill siting, design, permitting, construction and operation. Clients have included private waste companies, regional waste authorities, industry, and municipalities. Aquaterra personnel have also provided consulting services to state regulatory agencies. 

Aquaterra personnel have provided solid waste services since the early 1980's. The promulgation of RCRA Subtitle-D regulations required extensive design modifications to many facilities and Aquaterra personnel provided consulting services for many of these facilities.

Aquaterra maintains principal and support personnel to provide diverse services to the waste industry. Our staff includes civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, civil designers, CAD operators, engineering technicians and other technical staff.

With offices in Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, and Louisiana, Aquaterra is poised to efficiently provide waste consulting services throughout the southeast.

Solid Waste Landfill Construction Quality Monitoring

Aquaterra has developed a particular expertise in the monitoring of quality in landfill construction. In this capacity, our firm provides construction quality control (CQC) testing services and construction quality assurance (CQA) services. Our staff have worked on such projects related to clay liners since 1980, and flexible membrane liners since 1987. We have provided full quality control and quality assurance services for landfills throughout the Southeast.

Solid Waste Landfill Environmental Monitoring

Aquaterra performs environmental monitoring services for various clients and numerous facilities. We maintain a knowledge of cutting edge industry standards from low flow sampling to assessments of groundwater impact from landfill gas. We maintain the tools necessary to provide monitoring services in an efficient manner.

Our staff has experience using the DUMPStat computer model for statistical analysis of data. This state-of-the-art software utilizes ASTM methodologies to select an appropriate statistical method to evaluate for statistically significant increases or trends. The software also uses Monte Carlo simulation to evaluate the statistical power of the monitoring program that can be utilized to reduce site-wide false positives.
